Hunter wed the British actor Benedict Cumberbatch in 2015; the couple has two children together. In a professional capacity, the couple has worked together as well. In 2015, Hunter served as Cumberbatch’s director for the stage production of “Hamlet” at the Barbican Theatre in London.
